As children, we didn't ask ourselves if we "knew how to draw" when the desire to scribble all over came about. But then, one gets to adulthood and starts waiting for people to label them as "artists" to get permission to play. And one, as a child, naive, waiting to grow up so as to obtain certain types of liberties. Don't be fooled, kids!

About my approach
The way in which we shape our communities, both physically and emotionally, determine the nature of our lives. In more fragmented societies, the responsibility of each individual becomes a burden rather than an opportunity for meaningful exchange with fellow community members. We struggle to recognize what we owe one another. Instead, we divert our energy towards what we believe we are entitled to –or need to fight for.
My pieces circle around the structures that influence our ways of interaction… while also hinting back to the power of fierce love as both an agent of change and binding social glue.
The childish essence equally persists, not just because of how much we have left to reconnect with our inner child, but because of the power of play as an opposition to the idea of ¨productivity above all.¨
